Compound Butter for Steak

This compound butter is really simple to do and will make your steak taste great. Only 3 ingredients:

1/2 stick butter, softened
1 tablespoons parsley
1/2 cup capers

Do you want some compound butter for fish/salmon? Just switch out the parsley for dill.

Or make substitutes for different steak compound butters ..such as:

Chive Lemon: (I’d also use this one on lemon pepper chicken breasts)

8 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons chopped fresh chives
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 lemon, zested

  • Miso Chile:

  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons white miso
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha
  • 1/2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, plus wedges for serving

  • Basil Caper:

  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons chopped basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper
  • 1 tablespoon chopped capers

  • Chipotle Lime:

  • 8 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chipotles in adobo
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 lime, zested

  • Directions:

  • Combine ingredients and place on a piece of parchment paper. Roll up and make the butter in the shape of a log. Twist ends then place in the refrigerator or freezer to make firm. To serve: slice cold compound butter and place on hot steak or any meat of your choice. Yum Yum!
